Yes I am still alive! The spirit of the Olympic games has captured me and I’ve done nothing but walk around downtown Vancouver absorbing the chaos of national pride during the past couple of weeks. Which is a good thing because I’ve since lost 2 pounds from all the walking!

Two nights ago I watched the Ice Dancing finals and witnessed history in the making as Tessa Virtue & Scott Moir stood center stage and took the gold, the first for Canada in the Ice Dancing category. In moments like these, one can’t help but feel wonder and joy! It is also a moment so inspirational that I now want to be a figure skater! Last week after watching Alex Bilodeau win gold, I wanted to be a moguls skiier, but that has since changed! And perhaps this ice skating obsession won’t last long either, but as of right now I am set on purchasing a new pair of ice skates and hoping to hit the arena this weekend! :)

In the world of What I Wore, I haven’t been taking very many outfit photos because all I’ve been wearing for the past two weeks has been Team Canada apparel. It consists of a red & black toque, red sweater, red scarf, red mittens, jean skirt, black tights, black leg warmers and Converse shoes – the staple attire of Team Canada. And this may sound crazy but I am not the only one lurking the streets of Vancouer with this outfit! If you were to look down Robson Street, you would see a sea of red clothing! Whether it is an official Team Canada hockey jersey, or a Canadian flag hanging like a cape, everyone is wearing red! It’s quite surreal.
And this just in, Canada won 4 medals today! :)

The Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games starts tonight! I am super excited to watch the opening ceremonies, even though it’s only on TV! All week festivities have been happening around the city to boost excitement for the Games! Last Monday, I chased the Torch Relay around Surrey and today was the test run for the Surrey 2010 Celebration Site @ Holland Park! I even purchased the entire Team Canada wardrobe! :)
If you have some time tonight, wherever you live, make sure to catch the opening ceremonies!

The weather outside is unusually gorgeous! The sun in shining bright, the sky is blue and overall a lovely day :) I wish I had somewhere to go to enjoy it, but instead I’m sitting here in my room, blogging (which isn’t that bad, I suppose.) I can kinda see the sunshine from my tiny window :)

Today I had a little bit of time to take some photos of new clothes I purchased using gift cards from Christmas. I was hoping that $100 would last me at least a couple visits to the store, but I was soo wrong. Let’s just say that $100 can buy you anything these days..

And it’s official: My new favourite wardrobe colour is Navy Blue :)
Navy Blue Sweater – Esprit
Ruffle Skirt – Forever XXI
Black Tights – Gap
Navy Shoes – Keds
I also bought this really cute treasure box. Again, with the Navy blue! I’m not sure what I want to put inside of it yet, maybe potpourri of sorts or loose buttons from my sewing box. Either way it will be filled with something fun, or cute.
