Tonight I went over to my grand aunt’s house and picked up the very first ever Onedrgirl* Dress! It took a little bit of time, but it is finally complete! There are two more dresses on the way, but they won’t be ready until the end of February. The material is 100% cotton from Canadian Cottage and the lace embellishments are vintage (thanks to my mother’s long time friend who gave us a sewing box full of old vintage materials!). I think it turned out really well and I must give major props to my 75 year old grand aunt who sewed everything together! :) She is the best!

It’s a very girly dress and would be perfect to wear to high-tea sometime! I contemplated wearing it to work today, but I haven’t quite figured out what colour leggings to wear with them, and I don’t have the right shoes, so until I can figure all that out, I’ll keep it on reserve :)

This is my grand aunt’s basement where she has over 15 heavy duty sewing machines, endless rolls of vintage fabric and almost everything you need to create the perfect little dress! To some this may seem like a hoarder’s basement, but I can understand why she doesn’t want to throw any of them away! :) I snapped a few photos as she added the lace trimming! For an elderly woman, she has amazing eyesight, better than mine!

I didn’t have enough time to model the dress yet, but hopefully this weekend I can sneak a photo shoot in! :)
